Discuss: Engender stronger connections to
communities on the route

Have more frequent or structured stops along the way. Create ways to talk with local people about climate change and energy issues.

This is a great idea, but is very hard given our schedule. It would be great if the landscape we traveled through helped teach the riders something climate-relevant.

one of a few of my disappointments, and definitely the strongest criticism I have for the ride was the lack of interaction between the riders and the communities we passed through. I was under the impression that one of the prposes of this ride was to raise awareness and not just to legislators or our supporters, but to the communities we passed through. I had at least two interested community members ask me en route what we were doing, if there were any functions (open to the general public) that they could attend in the evenings. Most not even aware that we were passing through. I want this event to be a mobilization and education of citizens as a whole, especially those that see our group riding in mass and wonder, "whats going on?" and "how can I learn more" or "i want to meet these people"!
