The intimacy of the Climate Ride 2008 was pretty special - a group of 100-125 riders is ideal for that. I felt like I knew or recognized virtually everyone. Unfortunately, a group that size doesn't have as much impact as we finish the ride on Capitol Hill as a larger group. I think you could easily double the size of the group - say 250 - and still maintain that strong sense of community. And I would support making it even larger if you can handle it logistically given the political value. Although I'm not suggesting such a large group for Climate Ride, I've participated in rides as large as 2,000 people which have still been able to maintain a sense of community.
