Since NOLA is one of the most well-know areas hit by a natural disaster in the US that is likely linked to global warming, what about ending a ride there? I believe that the route would be much flatter, so more mileage could be covered each day. What if each ride had a "theme" such as: learning about wind power (which would go along wind farms and would meet with folks in that particular field), taking your voice to the Senate (the current NYC--> DC ride), exploring natural parks of the US (out near Yellowstone? or some other place- Blue Ridge Parkway?)
