i felt, personally, that the speakers were "preaching to the choir". i believe that this ride was a group of educated (and aware) advocates for climate change legislation and alternative modes of consumption and sustainable living riding for the cause, not a group of cyclists riding and needing to learn about the problems we face, the debate, the options or what individuals can do. i was disappointed in the speakers since I study these things and felt like the structured lectures/ presentations took time away from the community of riders getting to know each other more and enjoy the community. I was not on this event to hear more rhetoric, I participated precisely because I am tired of the talk and want action!
