Best way to get to NYC with a bike

There are many ways to get to NYC with a bicycle. The easiest way depends largely on where you are coming from, so please include your starting point in your answer.

No need to bring your own gels & bars if Clif products are

If Clif products (be specific) are good enough for you throughout the ride, no need to bring your own. I meticulously packed enough for each day and could have saved space (& time) by using what you all supplied (which was awesome, by the way, yay for Clifbar!).

You don't need to bring a stand up tire pump.

There were plenty of pumps provided by Back Roads and no real problem using them.
